Andrea & Kelvin get married!

One of the best things about being wedding photographers is the great people we get to meet at every wedding. When I walked into the ladies suite at Hotel Teatro, I felt instantly at home. Andrea and all her sisters and girlfriends were wonderful, and I had such a great day with them, I wanted to be adopted as a sister by the end of the day. The ceremony at Red Rocks was incredibly personal and lovely, and the reception at the Limelight Supperclub in the Denver Performing Arts Center was one of the best parties of the year. Thank you again Andrea and Kelvin for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day.

Sara and Steven are getting married!

With the weather as hot as it's been here in Denver, we've been spending a lot of time with our clients wading in creeks. Cherry Creek, Boulder Creek...as a matter of fact, if there is water nearby, we've been getting in it. Well we had a great time wading in the Boulder Creek with Sara and Steven, and playing on the playground. Thanks you two, and congratulations. We'll see you again soon.

Ali and Jeremy are engaged!

Ali and Jeremy are getting married in October, at the Grant Humphries Mansion. Kevin had a great time shooting with them downtown. It is so obvious looking at their pictures how much in love they are. We are looking forward to their wedding.

Kirstie & Todd's Wedding

Kirstie & Todd's wedding was so much fun. Everyone had a great time in their 20's attire in the very fitting arts and crafts style Boettcher Mansion. With a full band lead by Stephen Paul, a Frank Sinatra style singer, and a smoky card game going on all night, they didn't miss any cool touches for their big day. Congratulations to Kirstie and Todd, and thank you for everything. Please click this link for a slideshow!

Kirstie & Todd's pre-wedding party

Kirstie & Todd had a great idea to drop into some of their favorite downtown Denver spots the night before their wedding with a bunch of their close friends. Of course the group in their 1920's attire all got lots of double takes from passing people, which made the evening even more fun. One of our stops was into the Cruise Room inside the Oxford Hotel, which was like stepping into a little time machine with its well preserved 20's decor. After cruising through downtown, the group all headed back to a great private party with excellent food and even more good times. Thanks to everyone for making us feel like part of your group and being so much fun to photograph! Click here for a slideshow.

Michelle and Dale's Engagement Photos

We've been having fun this summer exploring new spots for engagement shoots and what not, and our shoot with Michelle and Dale took us to Eldorado Canyon, where Dale proposed to Michelle. While we didn't make the long hike to where he proposed, due to a pregnant photographer, we did take a lovely hike with terrific views. Congratulations Michelle and Dale. We're looking forward to your wedding.

Dara & Matt's Denver Engagement Photos

My wife Jessica enjoys writing reviews on Yelp, and we've also met a bunch of cool people there. Matt posted on Yelp asking about wedding photographers, and found us. We had a great time photographing Dara and Matt down at Confluence Park, then suggested they try out one of our favorite restaurants Watercourse. Hope you guys found it and liked it. Congratulations on your engagement, and we're looking forward to your wedding.

Kake!

So as wedding photographers, we get to eat A LOT of cake! Rather, I often merely taste a lot of cake, because I, Jessica, am very picky about cake. I can smell a cake from a box a mile away, cannot stand the icing that comes on your local grocery store cake, etc.

So when I had to choose a bakery for the cupcakes for my baby shower (my friends are planning it from California, and Glenwood Springs) who did I choose? Well, lately I've had some fantastic cake. I was not quite sure who the baker was, since we rarely get to see the baker, but I went the extra step to discover who had made the fantastic cupcakes at Melody's wedding (I am embarrassed to admit, I ate four, and took one for the road). It was Kelley, from Kelley Kakes. So we gave Kelley a call.

Now normally I'm not one to go on and on on our blog about vendors, but Kelley makes GREAT Kakes, and they also look fantastic. It is truly hard to find a baker who is both an artist, and can bake a great cake. So if you're looking for a baker give Kelley Kakes a try. You won't be sorry.

Melody & Brent's Colorado Wedding

Melody and Brent came up to Colorado from Texas for their incredibly colorful and festive wedding at Red Rocks Trading Post, followed by a great reception at the historic Boettcher Mansion. I had fun communicating with Melody before their wedding, suggesting hotels and sights for their guests to see while in Golden for this Colorado destination wedding. I was blown away though at the amount of detail that went into every part of their wedding, including more paper lanterns than you've ever seen, custom shoes for the big group of kids in the wedding, and the coolest custom invites, thank you cards and programs I've seen. Congratulations to Melody and Brent, and thank you for your gift of baby clothes for our girl! As if you didn't have enough to plan!
